European Teachers meeting in Croatia

In the classroom

How can you get students to work together better in international teams? How can you set up educational projects with overseas colleagues with assignments from the international professional field?

These were questions which lecturers discussed in Varazdin, Croatia . A total of 38 colleagues from the Beezr partner universities in Austria, Croatia, Denmark, Netherlands and Poland.

Within the framework of the European Erasmus+ project, Market Basket/Beezr, a training week was organised at the University of Zagreb from 15 to 19 February. The focus was on long-distance international collaboration between students.

Virtual teams

Working together in virtual teams is an important skill for students to learn. This could involve new ways of working, but also new technologies which are increasingly making it possible to work remotely. The Market Basket /Beezr model is a response to these developments and prepares students for working in this way.

Challenge

This way of teaching brings with it opportunities and challenges for lecturers.

‘For me, this international meeting, and international collaboration in general, were also useful for expanding my network. This brings countless opportunities along with it, such as invitations for guest lectures and knowledge exchange about content and teaching formats’, says Michel Knoppel, one of the participating FBE lecturers.
